It was a “Dabbang” action of a different kind when videos of “Dabbang” Bollywood star Salman Khan snatching the phone of a fan at Dabolim Airport on Tuesday morning went viral on social media.

The videos were shared on various platforms of social media including Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp, evoking sharp reactions from netizens.

While most of them slammed the superstar for his arrogant attitude towards a fan, some also hit out at the fan for clicking a selfie of the star without his permission, thereby invading his privacy.

The two videos of 7 seconds and 27 seconds in duration were apparently shot by one fan who was waiting to capture the superstar on video while he was exiting the Dabolim airport.

The videos showed a fan, believed to be an airport worker wearing a white shirt and black pant, walking ahead of Salman Khan and his team just before the departure gate.

The fan was holding the mobile above his head and attempted to click a selfie with Salman Khan who was behind him along with his team.

Salman Khan was apparently annoyed with the incident and in a fit of anger snatched the phone of the fan near the departure gate and walked out of the airport along with the fan’s phone, much to the shock of the fan, CISF personnel  and several people who had gathered outside the airport to catch a glimpse of the superstar.

The video then showed the fan trying to walk after Salman Khan but being pushed away by his team. The video ending with a large number of fans calling out to Salman Khan “Bhai”, “Bhai”, even as an angry Salman Khan walked away with the fan’s phone with his security.

Though the video clips did not show whether the fan got his phone back or not, sources at Dabolim airport said a team member of Salman Khan later gave the phone back to the bemused fan.

When contacted, an airport official confirmed the incident.

“The incident was reported at around 7.30 am when Salman Khan had arrived in Goa. We cross-checked the incident after the video went viral on social media. The incident is true and the airport shown in the video clips is indeed Goa International Airport,” said the official.

When contacted, an official of Dabolim police station also confirmed the incident but said there was no formal complaint lodged in connection with the incident.
