Sancoale Sarpanch Girish Pillai along with secretary Narayan Azgaonkar and Ward 9 Panch Arish Kader were present at the site when the handcarts were being removed. A strong police force from Verna Police station under PSI Diogo Gracias was present to prevent law and order situation.
A huge crowd had gathered at the site and the cart owners were seen trying to remove their goods from the cart to save whatever they could before the panchayat could remove the handcarts.

Sarpanch Pillai said the pan
chayat had received several complaints from people that roads near Zuarinagar bus stop had been congested and the bus stand was not accessible as these handcarts were set up right in front and causing onstruction.
"We are not against anyone doing business, but illegality will not be tolerated. We had told them to clear the area of the bus stop and we had served them seven days notice to remove the handcarts, failing which we will take action."
"The panchayat secretary gave them 3 days extra after the deadline of seven days was over. They probably thought that we will not take action. I want to make it clear that I will not tolerate congestion at Zuarinagar bus stop by illegal gaddas," said the sarpanch.
"We are here for people and we want to prove it by doing something for them. I want to make Zuarinagar clean and green. I have no personal enmity with anyone, but no one should take us for granted. Any inconveniences caused to public will be dealt with an iron hand," stated Pillai.
The sarpanch said the panchayat is discussing various issues plaguing Zuarinagar and soon plans will be implemented to free Zuarinagar from illegal encroachments.
Ward 9 Panch Arish Kader said this was done only in the interest of the residents of Zuarinagar. "The bus stop is not my or sarpancha's personal property. It belongs to the public and only public will benefit with this move. I appeal to the people to come out and tell us their issues and we will do what best we can do for the well being of the public. We will work as a team and develop this area."
