Goa Saraswat Samaj’s three-day Saraswat Food and Cultural Festival 2025 will kick off at the sprawling SGPDA ground, Fatorda, on February 7.
The festival, organised in association with the Directorate of Art and Culture, will host both off-stage competitions and on-stage events over three days.
Addressing the media, Goa Saraswat Samaj President Dr Jagannath Desh Prabhudesai informed that the three-day festivities will culminate in the Saraswat Entrepreneurship Challenge (Business Ideas Competition) and the Mr and Mrs Saraswat, Miss Saraswat, Mr Saraswat, Saraswat Kumari, Saraswat Kumar, and the Saraswat Fashion Show.
He said the festival will be inaugurated on February 7 at 6 pm by former Chief Minister and Margao MLA Digambar Kamat, in the presence of guest of honour MLA Krishna Daji Salkar and special invitee Margao Municipal Councillor Sagun (Dada) Naik.
The president also mentioned that Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai and Davorlim Sarpanch Saiesh Rajadhyax have been invited as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively for the concluding function, which will take place on Sunday, February 9, at 7 pm.
He added that the unique Saraswat Entrepreneurship Challenge competition will be held on Sunday, February 9, at 10 am at the Saraswat Food and Cultural Festival, SGPDA Ground, Margao.
"This competition has been organised to unleash the entrepreneurial spirit among the Saraswat community and provide them with an opportunity to showcase their innovative business ideas. It will be held in two groups: Group I”participants aged up to 25 years and Group II”participants aged 26 years and above," he said.
The Goa Saraswat Samaj has appealed to the Saraswat community to participate in this contest in large numbers.
