Sakhali MLA Dr Pramod Sawant has called upon farmers to undertake farming activities by using advanced technology instead of using old and traditional methods.
He was addressing farmers from Maina-Navelim, Bicholim, at a programme organised by ZAO Sakhali for residents of Maina-Navelim. Navelim Sarpanch Khushali Naik, Zonal Agricultural Officer Kishore Bhave, Dr Govind Parab, Udesh Gawade, Kamlakar Parab, Vishwambhar Gawas and others were present at the function.
Sawant also stressed on the need to examine mud samples to ascertain the quality of soil for better productivity.
Kishore Bhave spoke on techniques of farming and raising productivity, while Vishwambhar Gawas also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, Sarpanch Khushali Naik welcomed the gathering, while Sundar Naik proposed the vote of thanks.
Later, the government officials collected mud samples to send it for examination.
