Sawant wants Goan engineers to make toilets, but road contracts are given to outsiders: AAP

It is indeed unfortunate that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is now offering Goan engineers the job of constructing toilets, said the Aam Aadmi Party ridiculing the chief minister’s latest offer.

AAP spokesperson Surel Tilve said the chief minister in order to camouflage his total failure to provide gainful employment to Goan youth is now asking them to take up the task of constructing toilets. “The chief minister wants Goan youth to build toilets but for all other infrastructure development he wants outsiders like Adani,” he said.

He also pointed out that the totally bankrupt chief minister has not even begun thinking or preparing Goa for the period after the pandemic. “No economic policy is announced to revive the State that has taken such a beating due to the pandemic as there is practically no economic activity taking place on the state,” he said.

Surel pointed out that the tourism industry has literally fallen asleep due to the lockdown under which travel is prohibited. “The mining industry had folded up years back thanks to Manohar Parrikar and now the tourism industry is dying thanks to Sawant,” he said.

“In fact Goa is going through a disaster has even the foreign remittances of Goans working overseas has stopped as most of them are now at home in the pandemic,” he pointed out.
