A scooter parked in front of a house was stolen by an unknown person in broad daylight at Polem-Canacona.
According to Canacona police, Manuel Augostinho Fernandes of Polem had returned to his house with his scooter sometime around 3.15 pm of Sunday and had parked his scooter in front of the house and went inside.
However, when he came out at about 4.20 pm, the scooter along with cash of Rs 7000 in the dicky was missing and he raised an alarm.
He could not locate the scooter anywhere and when he checked a neighbour's CCTV footage, the thief was seen riding with the stolen scooter.
Police were alerted at the Polem check post and despite a manhunt, police could not trace the bike anywhere in the locality.
Canacona police have registered an offence and HC Krishna Zaraunkar is investigating the case.
