A 43-year-old scooter rider died in a road accident at Dandeavaddo-Chinchinim on Monday after a car rammed into the two-wheeler on Monday morning.
Cuncolim police said the driver of the Maruti car, Swatantra Kumar Chauhan, a resident of Zaino-Velim and a native of Uttar Pradesh, drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner, endangering human life, while proceeding from Dandewado towards Sarzora.
Upon reaching near Dukota Chicken Centre, Dandewado, the car dashed the oncoming scooter, which was proceeding from Sarzora towards Dandewado, and dragged the scooter some distance along with the rider, due to which the rider of the EV scooter, namely Sikandar Kandulna, a resident of Dandewado-Chinchinim and a native of Odisha, sustained injuries. He later succumbed to his injuries at the South Goa District Hospital.
