Around 250 workers attached to Sesa Goa Vedanta mining company on Wednesday met the Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly Dr Pramod Sawant and grilled him over the issue of early resumption of mining activities in the state.
The workers put forth a series of question like why the government was keeping the workers in the dark by saying the issue is with the central government and is on the verge of a solution when the Centre has stated that they are not related with the issue of state. Workers also asked why the state government was not taking a final decision regarding restarting of the mines.
Replying to them, Dr Sawant said that the government has not lied to the workers and the issue is pending with Central Mines Minister Narendra Singh Tomar.
