Shop, house gutted in Mandrem

A house and a shop belonging to Anjali Mandrekar at Deoulwaddo-Mandrem were gutted in fire in the wee hours of Tuesday.

According to reports, the fire broke out at about 4.15 am and property destroyed in the fire included two deep freezers, stationery, gift items, crockery, a computer and a printer, interiors of house and shop, racks of groceries.

A fire tender led by Fire Officer Dilip Gawas went to the site and extinguished the fire.

PANAJIThe Agriculture department is working on a model to make agriculture more profitable by promoting fresh fish farming in ponds and water bodies in the farming land. The agriculture departments Krishi Vigyan Kendra South Goa is working on a pilot project in the South Goa district.
