Union Ayush Minister Shripad Naik said the International Yoga centre and Aurveda institute proposed in Pernem taluka would promote development in the region and surrounding areas.
He was speaking after inaugurating the first floor of Pradnya High School, which has been built through MP funds.
Stating that education, sports and health have been a priority for the government, Naik said the Central government would provide necessary funds to create the required facilities.
Others present at the function included Sports Minister Babu Azgaonkar, Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte, ZP Member Arun Bandkar, Korgao Sarpanch Pramila Dessai and others.
Azgaonkar appealed to the students to give equal attention to studies and sports. Sopte and Bandkar also spoke on the occasion.
