Union Minister of State for AYUSH, Shripad Naik who has been re-nominated for the fifth time as BJP candidate for the North Goa Parliament seat toured almost all the wards in Mapusa on Wednesday but skipped Morod, the ward represented by former BJP leader, Sudhir Kandolkar, as part of his election campaign.
Naik who was also accompanied by former Mapusa MLA’s son and candidate for Mapusa by-poll, Joshua D’Souza visited most of the wards in Mapusa.
Mapusa Municipal Council Chairperson Ryan Braganza and ward councilors were also present during his tour in Mapusa.
He kicked off his campaign at around 9.30 am by visiting the Shree Dev Bodgeshwar Temple along with his supporters and city councilors.
He also paid a visit to the Milagres Church and took the blessings of the Parish Priest Fr Dennis Fernandes.
In most of the wards, the North Goa MP was accompanied by the local councilor.
