Speaking to The Goan, Naik said he has been working in the constituency for the past five years and wouldn’t take kindly, the moves to give the seat to MGP.
“There are many who want to join the MGP in order to be on the ruling side. I have been working for the last five years in the constituency,” Siddesh Naik said adding he has already made clear his willingness to accept the BJP ticket for the seat. He, however, insisted that the final decision over the ticket rested with the party.
Besides Madkaikar, over the past week, several persons have been linked with joining the MGP including Bicholim independent MLA Naresh Sawal and Quepem MLA Babu Kavlekar.
Naik can take heart in the fact that Chief Minister, in the presence of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had hinted that several persons were seeking power and had earlier approached the BJP and since the BJP had refused them, they are now approaching the MGP.
