The Special Investigation Team on Wednesday re-arrested a Valpoi local in connection with a land scam. This is the second re-arrest in the large-scale land grab fraud that has recorded several First Information Reports and 15 arrests till date.
Superintendent of Police (SIT) Nidhin Valsan informed the media that Sandric Fernandes, aged 38 yrs has been arrested in a complaint pertaining to property survey numbers 24/5 and 25/2 located in Calangute.
Fernandes was arrested in another land fraud in Nerul village registered at Crime Branch on August 19, 2022. He will be produced before the local court on Thursday for remand.
Rajkumar Maithi, one of the masterminds of the land fraud, was re-arrested on Tuesday and remanded to three days of police custody.
