MARGAO
As rail traffic on the Konkan railway was interrupted due to continuous heavy rains and ingress of water/slush in the Old Goa tunnel between Karmali and Thivim, the Konkan railway authorities moved in to transship the passengers from Margao to Thivim and Pernem by road.

The Konkan railway also diverted a number of long-distance trains on Monday.

KTC buses were requisitioned at the Margao railway station to transship anxious rail passengers.

Konkan Railways senior official, Baban Ghatge, informed that rail traffic between Thivim and Margao was disrupted with water and slush moving into the Old Goa Tunnel on Monday.

Meanwhile, a number of trains have been diverted following the disruption of rail traffic.

Train Nos 02618 and 04696 diverted via Panvel, Karjat, Pune Jn, Miraj Jn, Hubballi, Krishnarajapuram, Erode Jn, Shoranur Jn. Train No. 01224 diverted via Madgaon Jn, Londa Jn, Miraj Jn, Pune Jn, Karjat, Panvel.

Train No 09261 diverted via Madgaon Jn, Londa Jn, Miraj Jn, Pune Jn, Karjat, Panvel.

Train No. 02977 diverted via Madgaon Jn, Londa Jn, Miraj Jn, Pune Jn, Karjat, Panvel.
