The inspection was conducted for the second time after Dessai had issued notices to some households to stop releasing sewage water in the municipal drains. Dessai said second warning notices would be issued to the houses to stop such practices, failing which electricity or water connection of these houses would be disconnected.
In the morning, Dessai along with municipal engineer Ajay Dessai and municipal staff conducted inspection for the second time at Muslimwado, Cotto, Bamonsai, Taripanto and other wards in Sanguem town.
During the inspection, the municipal engineer took a round of the backyards of the houses at Muslimwado and Cotto and observed that the pipes from the houses are releasing sewage water in
the drains.
Chief Officer Dessai also asked the households to stop such practices and to use soak pit for releasing dirty water.
Speaking to media persons, Dessai said the municipal council had recently issued notices to some houses from Sanguem which were found releasing sewage water in the municipal drains since many days.
“Two days time was also given to stop such activities, but during the second inspection it was observed that people had continued with
the practice.”
“Now, we will send ‘second warning’ notice to about 50 houses which were found violating the rules and two weeks time will be given to them and if they don’t stop releasing sewage water in municipal drains, then the municipal council will disconnect their electricity,” warned Dessai.
