Son Latino dance performance at Ponda
PANAJI: Goa is set to witness the performance of the world’s most celebrated carnival group, all the way from Colombia “Son Latino”. The second largest carnival group in the world after Rio de Janeiro’s consists of 8 dancers and the musical Zambo consists of 6 musicians will be playing percussion and wind instruments, on December 3 at 7 pm at RGKM, Ponda.Barranquilla’s Carnival is Colombia’s most important folkloric celebration and was declared by UNESCO as one of the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. The group will perform dances such as cumbia, garabato, congo puya, mapale fandango and salsa.
The event will be organised by the Directorate of Art and Culture, in collaboration with Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Ministry of External Affairs and Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda.
