The next time your mobile is stolen or lost, lodge a report through the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal (www.ceir.gov.in) or by visiting their nearest police station.
Chances are that the police will recover the stolen or lost phone through the portal.
In fact, the South Goa police had recovered as many as 67 lost and stolen mobile phones through the Central Equipment Identity Register portal . The phones have all been handed over to the rightful owners at the programme held at the South Goa district police headquarters on Thursday.
District Superintendent of police, South Tikam Singh Verma said the police from the district has achieved a significant breakthrough in the recovery of lost and stolen mobile phones.
He said the South Goa district police in a major achievement, have successfully recovered 67 lost and stolen mobile phones through the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal.
Verma said the recovery highlights the effective coordination between the public, police and telecom service providers, and reaffirms the commitment of Goa Police to leverage technology in delivering citizen-centric services.
“Citizens are encouraged to report lost or stolen phones through the CEIR portal (www.ceir.gov.in) or by visiting their nearest police station”, he said, adding that the South Goa Police remain committed in ensuring public safety and delivering timely assistance through proactive policing and the use of modern technology.
Meanwhile, SP Tikam Singh Verma told the media that the Anti-Narcotics operations conducted by various Police Stations under South Goa District resulting in the registration of multiple NDPS cases from 9th September to 15th October 2025.
He said a total 13 cases were registered under the NDPS Act from 9th September 2025 to 15th October 2025 across South Goa Police Stations, seizing drugs worth Rs 15 lakhs.
“The Goa Police continues its sustained drive against drug trafficking and appeals to the public to report any drug-related activities to the nearest Police Station or through the Goa Police helpline”, he added.
