Concerns have been raised by locals as a large tank filled with molasses is on the verge of bursting at the Shristhal Industrial Estate in Canacona.
Responding to these concerns, Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar visited the site to take stock of the situation. “Locals are worried that the tank can burst at any moment and pollute the Talpona river,” said Tawadkar.
He has convened an emergency meeting with officials on Thursday to discuss the matter and to take measures to prevent any major mishap.
