CANACONA
Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar on Thursday interacted with the various heads of industries at the Verna Industrial Estate and sought their support under the Corporate Social Responsibility to build houses under the ‘Shram-Dham’ concept in Canacona.
Tawadkar showed keen interest in the production process of the various units and met heads of a few companies. He also briefed Verna Industries Association (VIA) members on the ‘Shram-Dham’ concept being implemented by Balram Charitable Foundation (BCF) in Canacona.
According to sources, Tawadkar said the Shram-Dham concept has already constructed about 20 residential houses for the needy in Canacona and also informed the company heads and officials of VIA that the BCF has set a target to build houses for over 100 families who do not have sufficient resources to build houses on their own.
The heads of companies extended their support to complete 100 houses under the Shram Dham, revealed a source at the Speaker’s office.
Speaker has also invited the members of VIA to visit Canacona and witness the work being executed for the needy people.
