In preparation for the annual feast at Velankanni on September 8, a special train service will be available for pilgrims travelling between Madgaon and Velankanni in September.
The Madgaon Jn. - Velankanni Special Express (Train No. 01007) will depart from Madgaon Junction at 12:30 pm on September 6. It is scheduled to arrive at Velankanni at 12:25 pm the following day.
The return journey, Velankanni - Madgaon Jn. Special Express (Train No. 01008), will leave Velankanni at 11:55 pm, on September 7 and is expected to reach Madgaon Junction at 11:00 pm the next day.
This special train will make stops at several stations, including Karwar, Kumta, Honnavar, Murdeshwar, Bhatkal, Mookambika Road Byndoor (H), Kundapura, Udupi, Surathkal, Mangaluru Jn., Kasaragod, Payyanur, Kannur, Tellicherry, Kozhikkode, Tirur, Shoranur Jn., Palakkad, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Karur Jn., Tiruchirappalli Jn., Thanjavur Jn., Thiruvarur Jn., and Nagapattinam.
The train will consist of 19 LHB coaches, including 2 Tier AC, 6 Three Tier AC, 7 Sleeper, 2 General, 1 SLR, and 1 Generator Car.
Bookings for Train No. 01007 will commence on September 4, through all Passenger Reservation Systems (PRS), the internet, and the IRCTC website.
