The number of Covid cases continued to witness an upward trend, with over 100 persons testing positive for the dreaded virus in Bardez on Thursday.
Mapusa Urban Health Centre (UHC) and Candolim Primary Health Centre (PHC) drove the rising trend reporting 36 and 34 positive cases respectively.
In Mapusa UHC jurisdiction, nine persons tested positive in Peddem/Shettya-vaddo, six each in Ekta Nagar and Feira Alta, three in Carrasvaddo, two each in Khorlim, Angod, Duler and Cunchelim and one each in Xelpem, Ansabhat, Pedru Bhat and Keny-vaddo.
Similarly in the Candolim PHC, eight persons were found infected with the virus in Reis Magos, seven in Calangute, six in Arpora, five each in Candolim and Pilerne, two in Nerul and one in Saligao.
In all, 14 persons were infected with Covid in Colvale PHC. Health Officer Dr Damodar Narvenkar said five persons tested positive in Colvale, three in Revora, two each in Assonora and Sirsaim and one each in Camurlim and Pirna.
According to the Health Officer of Siolim PHC, 13 persons tested positive for Covid. Five from Siolim, four in Anjuna, three in Assagao and one in Canca.
Only four persons tested positive under the jurisdiction of Aldona PHC “ Pomburpa (2), Bastora (1) and Ucassaim (1).
