South Goa district Collector Ruchika Katyal has emphasized on implementation of various initiatives such as hygiene rating, BHOG certification for religious places, eat right schools, etc throughout the district.
This was discussed and deliberated at a meeting of the District level Advisory Committee, South Goa under the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006, held at the South Goa Collectorate.
The meeting at the district Collectorate deliberated on the implementation of various initiatives under the EAT Right campaign of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. A presentation on various initiatives was given by the committee Member secretary Richard Noronha from the FDA.
The meeting was attended by local body heads, panchayat department, education department, mamlatdars, KTCL, civil supplies, WCD, police department and NGO Goacan.
The member secretary presented a report on the progress of these initiatives in South Goa and a road map was chalked out to scale up their implementation.
These initiatives aim at providing safe, healthy and sustainable food to all.
