The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination conducted by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education will commence from Monday and conclude on April 25.
An official release from the department of information and publicity said, that the detailed examination schedule can be accessed from the Board's official website at www.gbshse.gov.in.
On Monday, the examination will commence at 9.30 am for all the categories - general/CWSN/pre-Vocational/NSQF.
The Board advises candidates, all High School Std X students for whom it will be the first public exam of their academic career, to be present at their respective centres at least 30 minutes prior to commencement.
The Board has clarified that arrival at the Centres or examination halls more than 30 minutes after the scheduled start time of 9.30 am will "disqualify" candidates from sitting for the exam.
Candidates are debarred from carrying any electronic gadget, are required to follow all the instructions printed on their exam admit card (hall ticket) and are required to use a blue ball pen.
"Candidates will use only blue ball pen for writing answers and black lead pencil to draw figures, diagrams and for rough work. Answers written in any other colour or with gel pens will not be assessed," the statement said, adding that all instructions are also hosted on the GBSHSE website.
The exam is being conducted at 28 centres throughout the State with two new centres designated at Poinguinim and Cujira while discontinuing the Mashem centre. The total number of students registered to answer the exam are 19,343 of which 9,722 are girls and 9621 are boys, it said.
Also, 284 specially-abled students will also be answering the exam, the Board said, adding that 183 of them are boys and 91 are girls.
Meanwhile, the Board has announced rescheduling of the examination on April 23, the polling day for the Lok Sabha and Assembly bye-elections in Goa.
"The examination in the subject Basic Cookery (CWSN) in both Marathi and English medium will now be held on April 25 instead of April 23," the Board said.
Also, assessment centres at St Britto High School, Mapusa, and Fatima Convent High School, Margao, will remain closed on April 23 and assessment in Social Science II (in all categories) and all NSQF subjects will commence on April 25 instead of April 23, it added.
