The St Andre Congress block will celebrate the Opinion Poll Day on January 14 in which a host of individuals who are involved in the traditional occupations will be felicitated.
The Opinion Poll Day celebration will be held at PAP ground, Dando - Goa Velha from 5.30 pm onwards.
This was stated by St Andre Congress leader Mohan Dhond at a press conference organised by the St Andre Congress block on Friday.
“We have decided to facilitate individuals who are involved in the traditional occupations for more than 25 years and are from St Andre constituency. Among those include toddy tappers, motorcycle pilots, tempo drivers, laundry men, barbers, fishermen, fisherwomen, vegetable vendors, farmers, breadmen (poder) and others,” Dhond informed.
He further said that some more individuals will also be felicitated who have achieved unique achievements in the constituency like the star man of Agassaim, salt extractor, and others.
“The chief guest for the function will be Rohidas (Daad) Raghunath Naik Dessai, president of Goa, Daman, Diu Freedom Fighters Association,” Dhond said.
St Andre Congress block president Manoj Palkar and block youth president Terrence Picardo also spoke.
