St Andre Ind candidate Caido says will not withdraw from fray

CORTALIM

Stating that he was a serious contender for the St Andre Assembly seat, Independent candidate Simon Caido said he would not withdraw from the fray under any circumstances.

“I am receiving feelers from the supporters of my rivals to withdraw. I have made my stand clear that I would fight these elections and would not get carried away by baits thrown at me,” Caido told The Goan and warned that he would expose those who want him to withdraw, if more requests are made.

Caido said BJP had no moral right to field a candidate since the party's MLA had done nothing for the constituency. “Even the rumblers at Zuari at the accident-prone zone were not laid despite so many requests.”

Hitting out at MGP, Caido said the party which supports Marathi and which demanded that the Portuguese Prime Minister should apologise to Goans showed its true colours and the people should decided on such candidates.
