ST leaders set aside differences, join hands for political reservation

Keeping aside political and personal differences, leaders from the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community have come together to strengthen the fight for political reservation and push for justice for the community ahead of the Prerna Din celebrations on May 25.

Tawadkar said past differences between him, MLA Govind Gaude and Prakash Velip had been set aside in the larger interest of community unity, stressing that the alliance was formed solely for the welfare and empowerment of the ST community and should remain above politics.

He said leaders from across the ST community would share the stage during the Prerna Din programme, organised in memory of late leaders Manguesh Gaonkar and Deelip Velip, symbolising a united front for the community’s future.

Calling the occasion significant for the community, Tawadkar said the event would honour the contribution of the departed leaders while inspiring future generations to continue working towards the upliftment and rights of the ST community.

The minister also stated that while a sizeable section of the ST community is progressing independently, collective efforts and community-driven support would help uplift those still requiring assistance.
