Calling for a political revolution in the State, Ports Minister Michael Lobo on Wednesday appealed to voters to elect those who work for the people and advised political parties to issue party tickets only to those who have performed.
“Doing work is important and only those who have performed will get re-elected. People will not vote just like that. Political revolution is required and only voters can bring about this revolution in the State,” Lobo said.
“I will stand by the people who really want to work for Goa. A lot of ministers and MLAs are doing good work, but some have not. If all 40 MLAs do good work then Goa will see a revolution,” he added.
The Ports Minister was speaking to the media at the sidelines of a function in his home village of Parra.
Continuing, Lobo said political parties should give tickets to the right candidates who have the capacity and will work among the people.
“I won’t say all my colleagues are not working. But a lot of MLAs have not done work during the second Covid wave. They should not be elected again. In five years, a lot of work can be done. People should elect those who work for the poor,” he said.
He further opined that many people in the State were upset during the ongoing second wave of Covid-19 and the anger erupted on social media.
“Some have also spoken against me. The situation was such that people were bound to get angry. The Covid situation happened very suddenly, a lot of people also died. I can understand the pain the people have gone through when they lost their near and dear one to the dreaded disease,” he said.
