Stone-laden truck gets stuck in middle of main Valpoi road
The truck which got stranded in Valpoi town on Monday noon, disrupting commuters and motorists along the route.

The deteriorating condition of roads in Valpoi town was exposed on Monday noon when a stone-laden truck got stuck right in the middle of the main road leading to the police station and led to a massive traffic congestion in the town.

A growing number of mishaps are being reported on a regular basis on account of many roads being dug for various reasons across the municipality.

The right rear wheels of the truck got stuck in soft mud was was filled to cover a trench on the road passing near the police station and the residence of former MLA Ashok Parab.

Since this is a main road leading towards Nagargao, Sonal and Velus, many people were inconvenienced.

Passenger buses to rural areas depart from the KTC bus stand in Valpoi, but due to the road obstruction, many students were left stranded in Valpoi town and reached home late.

Many residents are upset that authorities have failed to take steps to address these issues despite repeated incidents in the past.
