Strike: Banking, transport may be hit

Services like banking and public transport in the State may be hit on Friday with central trade unions giving a nationwide strike call to protest government’s “indifference” to their demands for better wages and facilities.

  The All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) along with unions from factories, industries as well public and private institutions will take part in the bandh that will culminate in a meeting at Azad Maidan, Panaji.   
Several trade unions including Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh, Goa Municipal Employees Union, All 
India Bank Employees Association, Goa Rajya Karmachari Mahasangh, KTC Drivers & Allied Employees Association and Goa Government 
Employees’ Association have decided to participate in the strike.
