PANAJI: Exactly 10 days after escaping from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) lockup, fugitive land fraudster Suleman Siddiqui Khan is finally arrested by Goa Police in Kerala. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant revealed this development while taking a jibe at the Opposition leaders who had accused the police for Khan’s escape on December 13.
“I had assured the people of Goa to trust the government and the police. We have arrested Suleman in Kerala and he will be brought to Goa today after completing all the legal formalities,” Sawant informed reporters.
The CM also criticized the Opposition, accusing them of behaving like 'bhakts' (followers) as they circulated Khan’s photo. Reacting to the fresh viral video in which Suleman accused AAP President Amit Palekar of coercing him to create a video blaming ruling politicians and police officers for his escape, Sawant stated that the truth would emerge during Khan's interrogation. Sawant further hinted that the government had always believed the video was stage-managed.
