Asia’s largest electronic dance music festival Sunburn will make a comeback to Goa in December this year, the organisers Percept Ltd said in a statement issued on Wednesday.”Asia’s largest music festival, Sunburn will be returning home to its birthplace, Goa. Sunburn will be making its grand homecoming this December at Vagator, Goa after hosting its previous 3 editions at Pune,” the statement said. The festival featuring commercial, techno and trance music mixed by top international and Indian DJs will be held on December 27, 28 and 29, the statement added.
The last time Goa hosted Sunburn was in 2015, after which the organizers decided to move to Pune in the wake of acrimonious disputes with the authorities in Goa. The company was accused of reneging on financial payments to the State as well as paying up for the costs of providing the grand scale event with security arrangements.
Earlier in February this year, however, Percept Live, a subsidiary of Percept Ltd organised a 2-day showcase event in North Goa after entering into a collaboration with Goa-based Klassique Events.
The main event in December will also be co-promoted by Klassique Events headed by Shailesh Shetty, Percept said. Sunburn, had started in 2007 at Candolim before moving to Vagator in 2013.
