Top religious leaders across religions have been invited to attend the swearing-in ceremony on March 28, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and top BJP leaders will also be in attendance, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Thursday.
Speaking to reporters Sawant also threw open the gates to the venue to every Goan, saying that the people of the state need to feel that their very own government was in power.
"We have sent invitations to religious leaders across the board. Some have given confirmation. Some have been invited telephonically, while the government will be sending formal invitations to others," Sawant said.
The Chief Minister, along with top officials including the Chief Secretary P K Goel, Director General of Police ID Shukla, top BJP officials including Sadanand Shet Tanavade, BJP organising secretary Satish Dhond, visited the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee stadium near Panaji, to supervise the preparation for the grand swearing-in ceremony.
Sawant also said that apart from Modi, Shah, BJP national president JP Nadda, Union Ministers including Nitin Gadkari, chief ministers of seven BJP ruled states and other central party leaders would also be present at the event, which begins at 11 am on March 28.
Sawant also extended an open invitation to all Goans to attend the gala ceremony.
"The BJP government is being repeated after 10 years. It is a matter of pride. No one should miss this event. Every Goan should think that this government is my government, this government belongs to Goemkars," he said.
Among other invitees including newly elected MLAs across party lines, as well as former MLAs and ex Ministers of the Government.
