Theft accused remanded to custody

Two of three accused in theft cases have been remanded to four days in custody, while one accused has been remanded to judicial custody.

According to sources in Vasco police, Prashant Madar (27) and Bashid Khan (20), both from Sada, have been remanded to four days in custody while another accused, Sohail Khan (18), has 

been remanded to judicial custody.

Vasco Police on Friday had achieved a breakthrough in three cases, including two burglaries reported at Calangute and Mormugao police stations. They also achieved a breakthrough in one bike theft reported at Vasco police station.

They recovered gold worth Rs 2 lakh stolen from a house in Calangute on December 31. They recovered an Activa scooter stolen from Vasco and also recovered imitation gold and a wristwatch from the accused which was stolen from a house at Sada a few days ago.
