MARGAO
There seems no end to the woes affecting the Kadamba Transport Corporation. As many as three KTC buses reportedly broke down on Monday stranding passengers on various routes.
While a KTC bus heading to Margao on the Margao-Canacona route was stranded at Navelim on Monday morning, another bus heading to Quepem was left stranded at Pajifond around noon.
When The Goan tried to find out from the KTC employees manning the bus at Pajifond, he said the bus broke down because of some fault in the engine.
“We are waiting for the KTC technical team to come and resolve the issue. We have no idea how the bus suddenly broke down, but it could be because of the sensors,” an employee said.
The employee pointed out that another bus on the Margao-Panaji route also broke down on Monday, while the third bus was round parked alongside the road at Navelim because of a breakdown.
Passengers travelling on these buses had to undergo a harrowing time as they were forced to catch the next bus or travel by other modes on a day when it was raining heavily all over the state.
The KTC has been in the news recently after passengers travelling on these buses were left stranded on various routes over the last two months.
