Tiatrist ‘Romar’ held at Old Goa in preparation of upcoming exposition

God has blessed you with talents, go forth and multiply them giving glory to God urged Fr Patricio Fernandes, Rector of Bom Jesus Basilica, explaining the Gospel narration of the Talents, during the celebrationof the Holy Eucharist as part of the pilgrimage (Romar) held on Saturday at the feet of St Francis Xavier.  

“Our Gõycho Saib lived as an example to the people. His exemplary life lived according to the Christian doctrine attracted people to the one living God. Let your lives be an example to the audience so that they may emulate your example and lead a life worthy to be called a child of God,” he added.   

Appreciating the contribution of the tiatrist community in community building and educating the masses through entertainment, Fr Patricio challenged to be true witnesses of Christ to the Society. Recognising the services of the Tiatrist community to the Society and Goa at large, the Rector of Bom Jesus Basilica Rev Fr Patricio Fernandes had allotted the 9 am feast mass to the tiatrist community since the celebration of 125 years of tiatr and the tiatrist community has been participating in this Mass.  

Today’s ‘Romar’ was held in preparation of the upcoming exposition of the sacred relics of St Francis Xavier, more popularly revered as Gõycho Saib, began with the recitation of Rosary led by 20 tiatrists, which was followed by the Eucharistic celebration and a solemn benediction of the relic of St Francis Xavier.   

After the mass, the 20 tiatrists leading the Rosary prayer were given a special gift of the rosary beads.
