The Tivim Comunidade is reported to have leased 2 lakh sq. mtrs of land to a private educational institution in Maharashtra.
Revenue Minister Babush Monserrate has stated that the State government has also approved of this deal.
According to sources, a private educational institution in Maharashtra had requested the Tivim Comunidade to provide 2 lakh sq. mtrs of land on lease and the Comunidade’s management committee is reported to have approved the proposal and to allot land on a hill between Sirsaim and Pirna to the educational institute.
The proposal was then forwarded by the Comunidade to the revenue department and it was approved at a special department meeting chaired by Monserrate.
Sources said the Tivim Comunidade has proposed to allot land to the educational institution at a rate of Rs 25 lakh per annum.
However, further details regarding the nature of this educational institution and the allotment of land were not provided, as the revenue minister and Tivim Comunidade committee refused to divulge information.
Tivim Panchayat still awaits Comunidade land for MRF
MAPUSA: At a time when the Tivim Comunidade has allotted 2 lakh sq. mtrs of land to a private educational institution in Maharashtra, the Tivim Comunidade still awaits land from the Comunidade to set up a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) shed.
Sources said the Tivim panchayat had requested the Tivim Comunidade for 5,000 sq mtrs of land to set up the MRF shed, but the Comunidade has not taken a decision in the matter.
