Even as the Congress has kept its doors open for the non-BJP parties to keep the BJP out in government formation, Trinamool Congress Party MP Luizinho Faleiro on Sunday said the party national leadership is in touch with the Congress counterparts to ensure the BJP does not come to power in Goa.

He, however, said the party will insist on a Common Minimum Program (CMP) in the event a coalition government takes over the reins of Goa after March 10.

“The TMC will be keen to implement the schemes promised by the party in its election manifesto, including schemes for the youth, women and housing,” he said.

Faleiro declined to go into further details, saying the TMC national leadership is in close touch with the Congress party leadership in Delhi.

Sources, however, informed that the party’s role in the government formation will come to the fore in the event the party pockets a couple of seats and the Congress is stranded midway in the race.

Already, TMC leaders, including Churchill Alemao is believed to have raised questions on the Chief Ministerial candidate in the event like-minded parties come together to form a coalition government.
