TMC, MGP seat-sharing to be finalised by end of Dec: Sudin

VASCO

MGP leader and Marcaim MLA Sudin Dhavalikar on Tuesday said discussions on seat sharing between TMC and MGP are underway and could be finalised by December-end.

Speaking to reporters at Goa Airport following his return from Kolkata, Dhavalikar also said there are chances of a few more political parties joining hands with TMC and MGP for an alliance.

Dhavalikar sought to clarify that he was not linked to former Curtorim MLA Reginaldo Lourenco’s decision to join TMC.

“I had gone to Calcutta only to meet TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee to discuss various points on our alliance. We had discussions on how to go forward, and a seat-sharing decision will be finalised by December 30. We have, as of now, asked for 12 seats.”

He claimed that Congress is finished in the State and said TMC was the only alternative for the fight against BJP.

Commenting on former Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida’s decision to resign as MLA and quit the BJP, Dhavalikar said Almeida is a “very good MLA.”

“He is most welcome in our alliance because he can get elected again with the backing of our alliance parties. There are chances that one or two parties may join the alliance with us. I cannot tell you at this stage and the decision will happen only by December-end," Dhavalikar added.
