Drugs valued at Rs 5.2 lakh have been seized from Sangolda in the wee hours of Tuesday and a native of Tamil Nadu but residing in Sangolda has been arrested in this connection.
According to reports, the incident took place between 3 am and 5 am when a joint narcotics raid of Saligao police and Calangute police was conducted near Sapna Raj Valley, Bella Vista, in Sangolda.
A search of a scooter belonging to Selvin Gaunder (23), a native of Tamil Nadu but residing at Livrament, Bella Vista, Sangolda, revealed a substance believed to be drugs valued at Rs 5.2 lakh.
The accused was later arrested under the NDPS Act
Saligao PI, Milind Bhuimber, Calangute PI Tulshidas Naik and the police teams took part in the raid.
PSI Parag Parekh is investigating the case under the supervision of the Saligao police inspector and guidance of the Porvorim SDPO and SP (North).
