Tourist drowns at Colva beach

A tourist was drowned at Colva when he had gone for a swim in the sea on Thursday morning.

MARGAOrrAccording to Colva police, the incident occurred when the tourist entered the rough seas despite red flag warnings erected on the coast by lifeguards. rAs the tourist got pulled in by the currents, lifeguards immediately rushed and rescued the tourist who was in an unconscious state. He was then rushed to Hospicio Hospital where he breathed his last while undergoing treatment. rThe deceased is yet to identified. Meanwhile, in a press release, Drishti Lifesaving has claimed that a male was spotted at around 8.20 am in the morning at the shore after which he collapsed in the water and drifted away into the sea. The on duty lifeguards, identified that the victim was in trouble and immediately rushed to his aid and brought him back ashore. rHe was administered oxygen and theN rushed to Hospicio, Margao where he breathed his last. tgn
