Newly-posted South Goa District Collector, Ruchika Katyal, took a review of the track-doubling project with officials of the Railways, revenue and the police on Friday.
Officials in the know say the District Collector has told the Railway officials to exercise caution when there is no clarity on issues, including land. This message from the District Collector assumes significance and comes against the backdrop of the fact that protesters have called for the stoppage of the ongoing track doubling works on account of contentious land issues.
