In view of the scheduled VVIP visit to Goa on October 4, extensive traffic restrictions and diversions will be in force across major routes in Mormugao taluka to ensure smooth movement. The restrictions will remain effective from 12 noon to 10 pm on National Highways 366, 566 and 66.
According to Vasco Traffic Cell, heavy vehicles will not be permitted to ply along NH 566 from Sada to Birla Cross Junction, NH 366 covering the Vasco–Chicalim–Cortalim route, and NH 66 between Titan Junction and Cortalim during the restricted hours. Motorists have also been strictly advised not to park their vehicles along NH 366 from Chicalim Circle to Cortalim Circle, the Chicalim Circle–Dabolim Airport stretch, the Birla Cross Junction–INS Hansa–Dabolim Airport road, and the Titan Junction–Cortalim Circle–Zuari Bridge route. Vehicles found obstructing the VVIP passage will be towed away.
During the VVIP movement, traffic proceeding towards Verna and Margao from Vasco will be diverted via Mangoor Hill, Varunapuri, Shantinagar and St Andrew’s Church Junction, while traffic heading towards Vasco and Mormugao will be diverted through Birla Cross Junction at Cortalim Circle.
Authorities have further informed that traffic flow will be affected from 2 pm onwards on the Chicalim Circle to Cortalim Circle–New Zuari Bridge stretch, the Chicalim Circle to Dabolim Airport road, and on the Shantinagar–Dabolim Airport–INS Hansa stretch of NH 566 in both directions.
Police have urged the public to cooperate with the arrangements to ensure a smooth flow of traffic during the VVIP visit.
