PANAJI: The Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG) has welcomed the announcement of the Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP) in Goa, describing it as a major step towards improving the travel experience and boosting tourism.
In a press release issued today, TTAG spokesperson Aakash Madgavkar, on behalf of the association, thanked Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte for his efforts in bringing the initiative to Goa through coordination with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
TTAG said the biometric e-gate system is expected to significantly reduce immigration clearance time, enhance passenger convenience and strengthen Goa's appeal as a tourist destination.
The association also said it looks forward to further details on the programme's rollout and on-ground implementation. It expressed hope that the next phase of the initiative, which will include foreign nationals, will be introduced soon, benefiting all stakeholders ahead of the upcoming tourism season.
