The Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG) has welcomed the Centre's approval for the activation of the Fast Track Immigration–Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP) in Goa, saying the initiative will significantly enhance passenger convenience and strengthen the State's tourism sector.

TTAG spokesperson Aakash Madgavkar said the biometric-enabled e-gate system will substantially reduce immigration clearance time while providing a seamless travel experience for passengers.

"We eagerly await more details on its rollout and on-ground implementation, along with the next phase covering foreign nationals, which will benefit all stakeholders during the coming tourist season," he said.

Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte had announced on Wednesday that Union Home Minister Amit Shah approved the programme, enabling registered passengers to complete immigration formalities through biometric-enabled automated e-gates in less than 30 seconds, eliminating manual immigration checks.
