Minister for Information and Technology, Jennifer Monserrate, has informed that the upcoming Electronic, System, Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) Park at Tuem has capability to generate 2,000 to 3,000 jobs over 3 to 5 years. Monserrate provided the information while responding to a question asked during the ongoing monsoon session of the assembly.
For the purpose of Tuem ESDM Park, the office of the Deputy Collector of Pernem is in the process of initiating the process of land acquisition as well.
Meanwhile, public works department (PWD) office in Mapusa has also prepared the land acquisition plan and the estimates for land acquisition for the proposed road from NH17 connecting to the proposed park.
Monserrate also informed that 15,000 square meters of land has been handed over to the electricity department for setting up of a 220 / 33 KV EHV substation along with associated link line for Tuem ESDM Park.
Meanwhile, the State Government has appointed a consultant to provide consultancy services for engineering design of road work and allied utilities.
Four companies, which include M/s Smartlink Network Systems, M/s GIT Electronics, M/s Optel Vision India and M/s Aequs, have expressed interest to set up their units and also to join the special purpose vehicle (SPV) in Tuem ESDM Park.
