The two accused wanted in the Anwar Sheikh alias Tiger Anwar shoot out case have on Thursday surrendered before the Fatorda police.
Accused Valley D’Costa and Amir Gawandi, who were named by Anwar Sheikh as two of the accused persons, presented themselves at the Fatorda police station and surrendered to the police.
Valley’s lawyer, Adv Amay Prabhudesai, who was present at the Fatorda police station, told the media that both Valley and Amir have surrendered to the police on Thursday evening.
Asked for his comment on the gun used in the commission of the offense, Adv Amay said that Valley has denied having fired any shot at Anwar, adding that his client has claimed that the gun was found on the ground at the time of the incident.
Fatorda Police station in-charge, PI Kapil Naik informed that the duo have surrendered because of the pressure maintained by the Fatorda police.
“We had maintained pressure on the two absconding accused in the case. The duo had moved for anticipatory bail, but withdrew their application and opted for surrender”, he said, adding that the police is investigating into the gun used to commit the offense.
Anwar had survived a bid on his life when he was attacked by a group of persons two months ago near the Arlem traffic junction.
