In what appears to be a ripple effect, a Toyota Etios car (MH 24-V-6599) driven by Balaji Ghole (50) travelling from Sawantwadi to Goa first dashed an Eco Sports car (GA-07-K-8188) driven by Aliston Fernandes (23) from Loutolim, which was proceeding from Porvorim to Carraswaddo, police informed.
Subsequently, an Innova car (GA-07-E-5742) driven by Vivian Pinto from Camarkhazan following behind rammed into the Toyota car and an Access scooter rider, Sushant Dhargalkar from Shirgao struck his two-wheeler into the Innova car.
Namdev More (54), Sanjay Vale (55), Parimala Vale (52) and Sandeep More (12) were also travelling in the Toyota Ethios car.
While most of the accident victims were treated at North Goa District Hospital and discharged, the husband-wife duo Sanjay Vale and Parimala Vale were referred to GMC for further treatment.
