Calangute Police have cracked a theft case reported at Sulabh Shauchalay, Baga parking, with the arrest of two suspects traced to Kolhapur.
According to police, the incident occurred on November 5 at around 6 pm when the complainant, Shankey Dhillon, a native of Uttar Pradesh, reported that his bag containing three mobile phones, a gold chain, important documents and Rs 20,000 in cash had been stolen by an unknown person. A case was registered under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Relying on technical surveillance, a Calangute Police team led by PSI Kiran Naik tracked the movement of the suspects to Ichalkaranji, Kolhapur.
With assistance from the local police in Kolhapur, the team detained Vijay Kamble (31) and Ramesh Kamble (54), both residents of Ichalkaranji.
Police said both accused persons have confessed to the theft. Efforts are currently underway to recover the stolen items. Further investigation is in progress.
