Canacona police have booked a man from Karwar for hitting a two-wheeler with two women on board while driving a car in Canacona.
According to Canacona police, Rajesh Naik, 58, a resident of Karwar, was driving his Volkswagen Polo in a rash and negligent manner on the wrong side of the road near Hotel Matashree.
He hit a Honda Activa scooter coming from the opposite direction, causing both women riding the scooter to fall on the road.
Both sustained injuries and were taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC) for treatment.
The incident took place on 27.05.2025. The driver has been accused of driving without care or caution, putting lives at risk.
Canacona police have registered an offence under Sections 281 and 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023.
Further investigation is underway, led by Head Constable Diptesh Gaonkar of Canacona Police Station.
