He said the Congress leadership should ask Faleiro to step down from the top post if the party nurses any hopes of stitching a grand alliance of like-minded political parties.
“As long as Faleiro is there heading the Congress, it cannot think of coming back to power. The party is reduced to seven members from nine and I do not see the party crossing the two-digit figure in the coming election with Faleiro at the helm,” he told the media.
Mickky made it clear that he would not support the Congress as long as Faleiro is around, saying that the Congress president was rejected and defeated by the people in the past. “If the Congress president is silent on the BJP-led government, it could be allegedly because of some pressure. The government pressure is forcing him not to open his mouth. The Congress will not come back to power under Faleiro’s leadership,” he said. “A grand alliance can take place only if there is a new Congress president. So many people from the Congress are leaving the party to join other parties because of Faleiro,”
he added.
